Our Findings
Our Learn and Master Guitar review discovered that this course is possibly one of the most thorough home studies available on the market to help you learn guitar. Lessons are organized in a very easy to understand step by step manner that enables you to progress at a comfortable pace, Steve’s voice and tutoring style has a very down to earth quality that’s never boring but encouraging.
A large number of guitar styles are covered including acoustic, electric and rock, classical, blues, jazz, country, RnB and Funk. Each lesson is split into three sections, the first being the video lesson demonstrated by Steve Krenz followed by a video tips section of helpful information on a number of topics including other guitar equipment and maintenance. The final section is the workshop section which is a play along practice session where you get to implement what you just learnt in your lesson.
The videos include close ups on Steve’s hands so you can clearly see what he’s doing combined with diagrams of the chords and notes played.
The jam along cds of nearly 100 tracks are like playing with a full band and if you want to turn down the guitar part so you can just solo along with a backing band, it’s as easy as just fading down the left channel on your stereo.
Understanding how to read music and guitar tablature (a special music notation for guitar) are clearly covered in Learn and Master Guitar along with ear training and music theory that delves into scales, chord creation for a very well rounded education in music.
To help provide extra support as you learn, there is a whole online community and support website of like minded students and teachers available to you. You can ask questions, inform people on your progress and Steve Krenz even pops in to answer questions from time to time.
